Why go digital?

Here are some good reasons for going digital.

Processing Cost

You will never need to buy film again if you have a digital camera. However you will need to buy color ink and picture paper if you have a printer and want to print.

Immediate visibility

Digital Photography enables you to see your photos instantly. Many cameras have LCD Preview screens, so you can see the image instantly, or you can download your images to your computer as soon as you take them

Unlimited retakes

I you need to retake a picture because someone had their eyes closed or somebody walked into your carefully composed shot, you will know it immediately. You can retake the picture and delete the ones that you don't want.

Control

With digital images you have more control over the images. If something needs to be cropped, rotated or if the picture is too dark or not sharp, you can easily fix it with a photo editor.

Environmental friendlily

With digital photography there are no processing chemicals to wash down our sewers. You don't need to worry about the massive amounts of water and plastic containers that will need to be recycled.

Pictures last for ever

Negatives and prints fade. Digital images, however, will last forever if carefully stored! And if your printout of the images gets damaged or you want to make a duplicate, all you need to do is pull up the file and reprint it. Your only cost is the sheet of paper.

Most digital cameras come with editing software. Some of these software can be user friendly.
